How big of a pain in that *** is it to just buy the bars and move my existing controls to the new bars? I am assuming I need new front break cable as well as a clutch cable, is that all?
Ohh ya its for a 02 WG, I need to stetch me out a little more, I am 6-4
I considered purchasing that same thing before just doing it all myself. Should I ever boost up to higher apes (12.5 right now), I might just do that next time. I would think you'd need new brake, clutch, throttle and idle cables. A harness extension as well if you don't feel like digging it all out of the spine.
In all of the ape conversions that I have done if you go more than 2-3 inches you have to replace throttle, clutch, brake, and extend the wiring harnesses. If you dont want to hassle with running the cables internally then they do have bars that you can run the cables on the outside or you can splice the cables or if you can find them get the wiring harness extension.
I love the looks of those bars as well just don't know it they are worth the extra cash. Plus If I use my existing controls I know everything is there and it will work fine.
Bobjob, where did you pick up your items from? I wish there was a internet site that sold kits, buy the kit and just change the bars out. Easy, fast and cheap.
