New to the forum here, been checking it out the past couple of days.
My stock 2001 FXD has been flashing the trouble code out since I bought the bike this summer. I searched the Do it yourself section (My kind of section!) and found the diagnostic codes. Ran the test and found the code to be 31 Alarm output low. I don't have a alarm on the bike! I tried to clear the code and got the bike to flash that it accepted it, but when I turn on the ignition it flashes again. Tried test again and got the same code.
I might want to mention the left turn signal would turn itself on by itself for about two days a couple of weeks after I bought it. Upon dealer suggestion, took the switch apart looking for a loose connection, found nothing and it has worked every since.
How can I clear the memory it so it does not flash anymore?[sm=dontgetit.gif]
If you clear the memory of stored codes and it comes back again, there is a present problem storing that code. You may have to rely on the dealer to clear it for you and possibly analize the system with the digital tech.
I have said this before but it can't be said enough.
The fusebox on my SG got soaked every time I washed the bike. Consequently the fuses had corroded contacts. This caused all kinds of strange electrical problems. Check your fuses.
