BUT....I thought I'd share anyway. My digital camera took a shat so no pics just yet, sorry. I got my Lowrider back from the chrome surgeon this week. 12.5" Wild 1 Apes installed, looks great...like a Dragon Fly Green/Vivid Black Street Bob with a bunch of chrome...LOL. I had my guy put my indicator lights in between the speedo & tach on the console. Looks great, fits perfesct and looks stock. I got the idea from this board, someone else did it, can't remeber who, but thanks for sharing the idea, worked great.
I can't believe how nice the apes ride. Bike feels lighter up front, more responsive, very comfortable. Plus it looks tuff as hell compared to the stock lowrider bars. Oh and I had coated braided cables installed as well as Kuryakyn trigger levers (sweet) and HD lollipop mirrors (the cheap ones, till I find the lollipops I like better).
Anywho, I'll try to get pics posted soon...........
I know you said that above, but I always wanted to use that smilie.
I always thought tall apes would be uncomfortable, until I rode them. I really liked the stretched out feel on the short ride I took. I'm curious as to how the tall apes are on long rides. Seems like having your arms so far above the heart for prolonged periods of time might get painful.
I'll let you know bout long rides after this weekend. I'm doin a 2 hr. trip to Delaware this weekend. 2 hrs. each way will tell the tale. I hope they are OK cause I'm riding to Myrtle for bike week this month. 600 miles each way, so we'll see....
I think the blood flow problem wil be Ok, my hands lay a bit lower than my shoulders..........
Yep, like i thought, comfy as hell. Didn't ride to/from myrtle the whole [&o] trip as planned but did do quit a bit of riding for a novice like me. I've put about 1000 miles on the bike in the past few weeks since the apes and no probs at all. The furthest I've gone in a day was 370 miles. My A$$ was killin' me but no numbness in my arms at all and the apes felt great.

A friend of mine bobbed a 98 Fat Boy and put 16" apes on it. He said overall it's pretty comfortable, but he tends to shy away from some of the long rides we put together. Just last week he said his shoulder is pretty messed up...not sure if its from the bike or not but it bothers him enough that he's considering getting rid of the bike altogether (I get the feeling there's more to it, but haven't asked). I know it looks cool as hell, but I go on 200+ mile rides too often to even attempt it.
