Getting ready to buy throttle/idle cables and wanted to sanity check the lengths before I ordered.
Looking at previous posts someone stated they ordered +6 for 12" bars and they fit fine. I have 14" so I was thinking +8.
I currently have Burly 14" Ape Hangar kit cables on there; the clutch cable was way too big (I have already replaced that), but the throttle and idle cables fit really well. So if anyone happens to know if Burly's 14" kit matches up with +8 over stock, that would be very helpful info.
Going with Magnum Shielding, thats the clutch cable I have and it works very well. Checked all the other sites but cant find anyone selling +8 so I will probably have to order direct from Magnum Shielding.
I could never understand the +2, +4 thing. If you have stock bars, there should be stock cable. If your bars are 4" taller than stock with 2 more inches of pullback, would you get stock +6?
Or you could just take the burly's off and measure them
Definitely the most definitive way, but im lazy and was looking for the easy answer, lol.
Does this thought sound rationale?: Clutch cable I ordered was +6 and fits perfect. Im thinking +6 over stock would apply to all cables for the same bike/handlebars. Even though the clutch cable and throttle cables are different lengths, +6 over stock should be +6 for all cables, right?
I should have caveat-ed my original post, bars are 14" with plus two additional inches for risers and riser extenders, so really 16".
