The S36PL is an inch longer than stock and that combined with the piggy back gives 3 7/8 stroke vs stock which I think is about 2 1/2 inches. More travel is nice and it doesn't affect the looks of the bike.
so I talked to Howard and he confused me a bit more. Nice guy and all. I'm aiming to get the shocks from him, but he mentions that when they come in he assembles them or works with them first? I'm used to buying shocks right out of box. Why would he need to deconstruct/construct new shocks? I'm assuming Ohlins ships these assembled no?
He would be shipping these to me, so it's not like he can have them fitted and adjusted on my bike. I'll have to deal with the sag and fumble around with the settings once they are installed.
I didn't want to get into too much detail regarding this (and bother him with possibly some noob questions), was more trying to get the bottom line price and definitely he has some great pricing.

When anyone can come up with a shock that will work for a woman single rider who weighs in at 120#, than a husband & wife team 95% two up that weighs in at 285# & 275# and a 250# single up guy and all expect a shock to work out of a box? I have said this many times that if I could do that than I would move on and branch out to sell prospective brides who is happy all of the time and does not bitch years on down the line. You know wife's with warranties? I think I will stick with modifying shocks for different customers. I may not get it right 100% of the time but I stand behind what I do.
Not great reviews on those progressive fork cartridges I'm afraid. Search the forum here. May want to try new springs and Ricor intiminators or something similar. Cheaper than the cartridges as well.
anyone running 12 inch ohlins here? Lots of 13 inch ohlins I'm seeing but haven't come across any reviews on the 12 inch.
If you are running the 12 inch, what are your thoughts on comfort? Would you go up to 13+ if you had to do it over again? Do you have a spec sheet of your 12inch?
GREENOHAWK69 (real name hidden because of Chrome-A-Files) has the only set of made for him chrome shocks that I have ever seen in the world. I think he may take them off his bike and attach it to his chain (around his neck) when visiting the Retro Disco.
Is this an option? Any idea what the additional cost would be to do the chrome?
Switched from 12.5 Progressive 440 HD to 13 3/8 Ohlins, +2 fron forks. Love it so far. backing up is a b!#$ch though. And probably need to extend kick stand

You could always go with one of these. I put one on my FXR, works great! Mine had an extreme lean too, now it sits perfect.
