I know a 2into1 makes more power but really at the end of the day how much more? Any one have any real world dyno comparisons? My 10 107 sg had a pro pipe and i loved it and was going to get one for my 14 low rider but it looks a bit big for my liking on the bike based in pics. Also wondering how heavy it really is. My lowrider build is way different then my sg will be and im taking notice of weight on anything i do to the bike. Looked at v&h comp short 2into1 but im sure that is going to be crazy loud but i know it less weight then the propipe. Magnaflows 2into1 are appealing aswell.
Really just want to make my mind up on a pipe so i can plan my build. I will say that alot of the 2into1's i dont like based on how the rear cylinder pipe runs forward and then back. "Like factory pipe". Really dislike that design. See more dual style pipes that i like so thats the reason for this post. If a 2into1 makes all around better hp and tq then ill have to live it i guess.
When I changed my pipe from stock shotgun style to a 2:1 there was a noticable difference in midrange torque. The thing I noticed most was sixth gear became more useable...
I can tell you this weekend...I currently have a V&H big Radius 2-2 and have 102hp and 114tq...I'm installing a D&D Fatcat this week and a fresh Dyno tune...
I went from stock pipes to V&H short shots and the difference wash "meh" I got some thing out of it. Mostly because of the tune, I'm guessing. Then I ran a few auto tunes, which also helped. Then I got a Bassani 2-1 road rage short megaphone... WOW quite a difference and I did not change the tune! LOTS more mid range pep/ TQ. Also I noticed a small 1-2mpg gain.
Very little power difference unless a serious build has been done.
s
basiclly stock build about the main thing in improvement is improved upper low end to mid range power. Nothing to write home about.
probably around 3 to 4 hp increse with around 5 to 8 tq.
I like 2 into 1 mainly for its look and sound.
I suggest getting what you like for looks and sound. Unless your wanting every ounce of power go with what you like.
Thanks for the input guys. I appreciate it. I do infact care about most power, and in the same boat as far as looks. Only thing that gets me on these dynas is the rear pipe running forward then back as said before.
. Thought maybe is made about the same for the most part but guess not. Guess i just need to compare price, weight, and design for 2into1's.
It had crossed my mind to build my own for sure and who knows i still might.
Peak numbers won't change much. What will change dramatically is the curve. 2 into 1 will put the power down sooner than a 2 into 2, enough so that it is worth writing home about. You could gut your stock head pipe and run a slip on and have a pretty good exhaust.
