I just returned from a 2000 mile trip with the wife on back and about 40lb of gear ( saddle bags and a leather backrest pack with most of the weight) the low rider handles curves great, although will not be like a sport bike, is a lot of fun to ride, I did install progressive shocks 1/2" longer than stock, did not drag anything.

If money matters and you are truly not bent on a Low Rider you cannot beat the deals available on nearly new/slightly used Super Glides. Go to CycleTrader.com and have a look. I own a 2013 FXDC and took a 2015 Low Rider out for a long ride in the Adirondacks this past June. As someone else said these bikes are more similar than they are different. Don't be turned off by a 96 cu.in. Super Glide either. The bike is so light it has plenty of oomph. Besides, with the money you will save you can add cams, pipes and a tuner and have a real *** kicking bike! BTW, if you absolutely NEED 103 cu.in. you can find a 2014 Super Glide with the 103 easily.

I did look at SGs on Cycletrader yesterday and there are some really good deals. A few 2013 and 2014 SGs had only a few thousand miles on them. Many already came with nice extras. Street Bobs, Low Riders and Super Glides have more in common than they are different. You cannot go wrong with any of these Dynas.

I looked at the Street Bob, Fat Bob, SG, and LR. In the end, I went with the LR. The adjustable bars, tach and dual front disc brakes were all things I really wanted. I also wanted the mag wheels that came on the LR. Did not want spoke wheels or the mini-apes on the SB. Also, the LR weighed about 20 lbs less than the SG.


The truth is no matter which Dyna you get, there are no losers. Only someone lucky enough to have a nice HD.

Dunno but I.. am fixing to introduce my version of an upgraded Super Glide (Custom) in the coming months... Its gonna be a little of what HD has built, should build and what they should've never stopped building..

I bet whenever HD gets around to an updated Dyna platform the Super Glide will come back, but its only been 10 years since the last update, so I wouldn't expect it any time soon.
