09 FXDF will crank and not start. Have tried heaps. Stumped
I have an 09 fxdf and had s&s 107 jugs installed, 635 cams, headwork done and the clutch spring upgraded. The bike will now not start. It will start occasionally if i twist the throttle and then it will not idle properly, it will shut itself down and be kicking back. I have checked the fuses and replaced the Start relay, the system relay is on order. I cleaned the junction where the cable runs from the battery to the starter, i have replaced the spark plugs and cables with screamin eagle ones. I also pulled out the thundermax and put in the stock ecu and reflashed it with a new tune, nothing changed. When i am trying to start it i get flames coming out of the exhaust and the house ends up smelling like fuel. I have been searching for an answer but havent found one. I am also not getting any error codes coming up. I am stumped.

Sounds like it is out of time. You said you had that stuff installed. Take it back...
It sounds like it was running after the mods. Was something done to the bike since that?
What do the plugs look like?
Try reinstalling the TMax ECM and load a new map. It's possible the map was corrupted. Don't forget to pull the ECM fuse.
Did you check for codes in the TMCC or the stocker?
Sorry guys, i didnt write enough. I put the bike in with a pretty stock setup, except intake, exhaust and tuner and it was running. It had the work done on it and it has not been running since. The guy who did the work dropped it back to me as he had to go away and he gave the bike backl not running. I tried reloading the firmware on the TMAX, then reflashing the tune and it didnt work still. I then put the stock ecm back in and flashed that with the sepst software, just to give him a hand. It still didnt start and was doing the same thing so it wasnt the tuner. I am hoping it is the system relay now. BUT could the IAC be blocked (going to get throttle body cleaner now, the crank poition sensor be faulty, the TPS be faulty. Can things be faulty but wont throw any codes? He is picking the bike up again tuesday and he will have about four weeks to figure it out whilst i am at sea working up a ship to go back to the middle east. Wanted to get figured before i go or it will be a long seven months at sea.
After playing with the cranking fuel millisecond and something clicked in my head that they are easy start cams, so less compression less fuel needed and dialed that right back, i can now get it to start with a quick twist of the throttle and no kickback from too much fuel. The problem now is, i have to hold the throttle so it idles at 2000 rpm, if it drops below it shuts down. Slowly working through it but have two small children so no more starts tonight i am going to try increasing the idle fuel and see how that goes. I am sitting here thinking i may have dialed that back aswell. If i barking up the wrong tree here let me know. As i said i am stumped
