Unless you like a ratty, home brew, jerry rigged contraption look. Then if you do get the pipes wrapped, get some plasti- dip and coat everything with it, and some VHT night shades spray on tint for all your light covers to complete the look! IMO.

My son thinks wrapped pipes look cool and wants to install it on the WG. He said he can take the heat shield off the V&H pipes and do it himself. I don't know anything about the process or the performance. Can anyone enlighten me?
Sorry Two Lane, it kinda looks like we missed enlightening you. In short it's a simple process anybody can do for themselves. I just watched a YouTube video for some tips before I started on mine. This link provides the info:
High heat exhaust paint will fix that. (It'll smoke the first time you fire the bike)
From what I've read in some past posts, the high heat exhaust paint also deteriorates in color tone over a period on time. I don't want to continuously have to R&R my exhaust to keep them looking good. So I was hoping maybe the silicone spray held its color longer than high heat paint.

Great vid!
FWIW, I used to touch up the black paint on my painted wrap a couple times per year. No big deal.
Someone mentioned smoking pipes, which reminded me of one of my earlier posts and vids where I was freaking out about just that LOL!

I don't think anything will last long. It's easy to slide some newspaper behind your pipes the repaint the wrap. 5 min job at most.
LOL, understood. Mine smoked much longer that I expected. I was riding for over an hour before I came to a stop. They were still smoking even after 2 hours. Then the next day I'm making another trip and they were smoking again for a while. But that was about it, smoke free after that.

Well thanks guys, I guess I'll give the paint a shot. I'm going to take the pipes off to re-wrap in 1" rather than my current 2" wrap. That 1" looks pretty clean to me, and I'm pretty sure it will take tight turns a bit better with less pleating issues.

I feel the same way about chrome and flashy paint. Thank god we all have freedom to choose.
Thanks all of you for your input. Personally I like the bike the way it is, but I gave it to him and he wants his own style. And yes he has talked about something called Plastic dip. Here is a pic of it now. I am old school, black and chrome baby.
