The first thing I did with my SG was to put on mini apes. The handle bars on it were just plain uncomfortable with forwards. Kinda felt like I was doubled over trying to do situps. I added a Mustang Wide Vintage seat and highway pegs so I can kick back. I have put over 20K miles on it since then with one 1500 mile road trip and it is very comfortable for me for long rides.
how tall are you? like to see some pix of a nice profile shot if you can, maybe you on it? I know what Im looking for in a bar but just cant seem to put the dimensions together......I bought a set of Switchback bars fom a member here but I don't thing they're tall enough......my stock bars have a 6" rise and the SB bars 8" but I just didn't like how they felt.
Agreed, I am 6"1' and my mini apes do wonders over the stock bars.
I also stood mine straight up to get the longer reach without having to go more than a 10" handlebar
6-1 @ 280 lbs. I cannot access the hard drive that most of my photos are on but here is a photo from two weeks back of me and my son and our rides after a 250 mile ride from Klein to Dibol Texas and back.
