Ape Hangers

Anyone have suggestions on how high I should go with apes on my Super Glide? I am 5'7" and don't want to be too high.

12 to 14 inches and you're not gonna have to change the cables or reach above shoulder height...I'm 5'7" and my 12" road 6 customs bars are just perfect.

here are mine, I hated the stock bars. I have larger ones on my sporty now, but as far the the touring bike is concerned, I think that these work great and are very comfy. Good luck with you choice

I'm 6ft and really like the stock mini apes (10" from Street Bob ) on my Super. They are very comfortable and I don't feel like my hand are way above my shoulders. You'll only have to change the throttle and return cables and re-route the clutch cable. I bent the stock brake line and made a new mount which works fine too. I also relocated my front turn signals at the same time and it cost $10 for another left signal ball/socket mount that you can turn and use on the pinch bolts for the forks. I got it all done for $100 with buying the bars from a member here and cables and mount for signal at local HD shop.

I just picked up an on superglide with 16" apes. I'm 5'7" and hands are couple inches above my shoulders. Not too bad on longer trips, I'm in the process of building an 06 WG and have a set of 17" todds apes I'll be tossing on it.
