Whats up guys.. I have a 08 super glide and found a set of newer thunder headers for a great price. I have been told I would need and 18mm to 12mm o2 adapter to make them work for my bike. I have been looking online and can't find them anywhere. Only ones I'm finding are for bassani. I assume those won't work?? Any help is greatly appreciated.
So, now I'm even more confused... I have had people tell me both.. that I can get an adapter and that it has to be customized. I'd hate to spend the money on the pipes and adaptor and have it not work.. Hopefully some more people have input on this..

yes there is such a part. i ordered some from J&P cycles last week. They were the bassani brand. Also my local dealer had some in stock as well so give them a call before you order online and save yourself some shipping cost.
Well then someone post up a pic, or a link of this magic part that somehow allows a massive 18mm O2 sensor to be adapted down then threaded into a small little 12mm hole.
Then after said photo or link is produced tell us how the shield of the 18mm O2 sensor will be properly located in the exhaust gas path as needed to properly monitor the AFR of the engine.
The adapters basically render the o2 sensors useless because, as lama mentioned, the sensor is not far enough into the primary to read anything accurately. Weld the proper bungs to the pipe or get a pipe with the proper bungs.
And I believe there's only adapters to make an old pipe (18mm) work on a new bike (12mm). At least that's the only way it would make sense to me

I have a new set of the adaptors and the 02 extensions in my garage if you need them. Drop me a PM...
Edited to add: Mine are designed so you can use a 12mm O2 sensor in an 18mm port...Is this what you are asking for?
