Hey guys.
I got my fender struts back from powder coating and plan to install the docking hardware for a detachable sissy bar at the same time.
The rears are a little confusing. There's a "counter sunk" part. Is that facing outwards or inwards?
"Install rear docking point, countersunk end first onto screw threads, followed by a spacer"
the order you are holding it is perfect, just pass the bolt through the docking part, the washer goes against the tire side and thread it through, your done.
If you are hearing a rattle use some black electrician's tape around the black piece, HD has no solution for it. though you would think by now they could have done something, I got mine back in 2007.
Whatever you do - do not over tighten those as the piece inside the fender is a cheap white metal.
