The metal pieces will pop off without that much prying. Use a stiff piece of plastic if you dont want to scratch the (pos) stock shield, which IMO is only worth using as a small dog sled. Seriously dont worry about trying to save it or sell it...they are garbage.

I took out all the chrome nuts and bolts thinking that the chrome pieces would just come off but it looks like the OEM shield is glued to the chrome pieces as well.

I don't wanna mess up the OEM shield but man that glue is some powerful stuff!

Any ideas?

Thanks for the advice guys. Slow and steady did the trick. Used a small piece of plastic as suggested and slowly but surely they started to separate.

I found a trick to getting all that residue off the pieces too. A sink full of hot soapy water ... soaked for about 15 minutes and that stuff just peeled right off.

I'll post some pictures when the CV arrives tomorrow and I get it mounted.

Shield arrived yesterday afternoon. It's a beaut, let me tell you. I got the 19 inch wide light smoke version with the vent.

I don't have pictures yet of it installed cause well ... it's not installed. Got all the mounting hardware installed and went to put er on and ran into this.

Looks like I'm gonna have to shave this thing down a bit to get over my passing lamps.

I know some of you guys have had to do this before so just looking for some advice or tips before I start cutting on this thing.

Ok. I have to give a shout out to Craig over at Clearview. Dude called me and said that there's no way he wants me to hack on this thing. Said that this is on them and he wants to make it right.

Wants me to ship it back to him (at his expense, not mine) and wants me to mark where the assembly is getting in the way so they can correct the cutouts and do it right.

This has to be customer service at it's finest.

Craig and Clearview Team,

You guys are the best. From the very beginning of my search for a replacement shield for my RK, you guys have been nothing short of amazing. Constant communication during the process. Always available to ask questions. Even when the first try didn't fit you paid for all the shipping and made it fit perfectly.

Five star rating from me and I'll send anyone looking for windshields right to you.

Oh. And lest I forget .... GO HAWKS!!!
