Customs Dynamics LED tail light on 2008 Super Glide Custom
I have searched the forums and could not find an answer to this so if I missed it I apologize.
I was looking at getting a custom dynamics LED tail light for my 08 super glide custom. I called them to make sure I was ordering the correct one.
Talked to a very helpful person that told me they do not make a tail light that will fit an 08 super glide custom because that bike has an inverted tail light and the license plate window would be on the wrong side.
Has anyone put a LED tail light on an 08 super glide custom and if so what brand?
i say this because there are different versions of the tail lights depending of the bikes region of sale. if your tail light is 68141-04/68140-04, the person you talked to MAY HAVE, MAY,... misinformed you. this is the same light that would be on a sportster cn which i have and i installed a CD genesis II laydown tail light in march.

You better call again,, the "helpful" person was clueless.
Is your license plate above the taillight?
If so just tell them FXD not the FXDC,, there is no difference in the wiring.
If they still tell you they don't make it,, screw'm, and get a Kuryakyn Panacea,, easy plug-n-play

I found a low profile smoked LED light on E-Bay for $19. I was hesitant in getting it because of the price but thought what the heck. It had 5 wires and my bike three. So that took some testing. The license plate light is the two extra, so all good. I think it looks great!
Here is a before and after:
I went with this setup on my 09 Super Glide Custom and it works nicely:
*Integrated Genesis II Laydown Smoked No Window Tail Light GEN2I-LD-S $149.95
*Radius Black Horizontal LED License Plate *Frame Low Profile LPF-RAD-B-LP $48.57
*Posi-Tap Quick Connects PTA2022 (pack of 4) $3.57
*Slim Line Signal Stabilizer GEN-HD-STABILIZER $64.95
This set up has no window (for tag) because the tag frame is lighted above, works great. The brake light has integrated turn signals.
Good luck!

This looks like a regular tail light...I have a CD one on my 2001 SG, and my son has one on his 2004 LR. Ours are the same parts. Don't know about your year, though. Might be wired different.
I'm so glad I hopped on here before going through the headache of calling CD. I have my turn signals integrated into the tail light as well and when I hit the signal it just lights up and doesn't flash. I'll be looking into the signal stabilizer for mine.
