Yep that's exactly what its for, the detachable sissy bar. You basically take out the bolts that hold the bar to the side plates, slide this rack between them and use the longer bolts that come with the rack. Little red loc tite and torque to 8-10 ft lbs and you're set!
Unfortunately I dont have the part number handy, I'll see if the box is still in the garbage on tuesday at work
Thank you ! That's probably why Harley only says 10lbs don't want to be held liable lol
So I got a little bored this weekend and took some stuff off the bike that needed MOAR black! Got the headlight bucket, horn cover and brackets powder coated.
I also ordered a black daymaker and 1" riser extensions but those arent in yet
I made a little progress on the bike.
Installed the black horn cover / bracket
1" riser extensions from DK
Black headlight bucket and bracket.
Unfortunately it turns out that I have a non US bucket so my daymaker didnt work out. I swapped in some sylvania silverstar ultras instead
Did you get the HD luggage on sale? I expect we're going to get hit sooner or later up here on the exchange...
We've used the Kury bags, now wife has a Tour Pak and I use a Saddleman fender top bag; both our Dyna's are set up for solo riding though.
Nice story so far! I'm sorry that your truck was stolen. It looked pretty sweet too, but kudos to you for turning an awful thing into something positive. I've had similar experiences in life and learned the hard way that you don't get the money you put into things back from the insurance companies. The insurance companies are on par with the thieves that stole your truck, but I digress. I have had similar experiences on the wait time when ordering through Harley. I was told it depends on a couple of things, what warehouse its located in, and if they have it in stock. Quickest I've had a seat I ordered come in 3 days and that was @ Christmas time. Slowest was right at 3 weeks. Usually its about a week to 10 days. I really Like the mods you've done so far. I've got a 2014 FXDF in amber whiskey that I'm slowly working on. Only have V&H slip-ons & a solo seat at the moment but I was in an accident a couple of weeks ago so I am using this time to do some upgrades. Looking at the Bassani Road Rage II B1 for the exhaust, possibly the HD chisel billet air cleaner, and the SERT for a tuner. Originally I was thinking I wanted a pretty even mix of black and chrome but after seeing your MOAR black fat bob I have decided that I need MOAR black on mine to make it a sick ride like yours! Very nice pics you take as well. See if you can get us some of the right and left profiles soon so we can see how it is all coming together!

I did end up grabbing it! The price had gone up already, by about $60. luckily though, I had a previous quote on them before the price change so they honoured that quote + %20 off

Thanks man! I'm glad I could inspire you a bit!
Post up some pics of your bike once you start your project!
