Ok I've searched Hi and lo and can't find the answer to this, and I'm sure it's something stupid I'm missing but, I had to replace the petcock on my tank an the strainer won't come out the tank. Twist, pulled, yanked..... Nothing. What's the secret to getting this out so I can install a pingel.

I used a heat gun on mine, then gripped the edge with a needle nose pliers and it came right out. If you don't have a heat gun, a blow dryer should work. Of course be cautious of gas fumes.

Actually just enough too soften it a bit. I didn't ruin it, it was reusable. I didn't need to get it very hot, just good and warm.

My 98 wouldn't come out either, I had to force and destroy it. I used pliers and levered them with a piece of wood to pull it out. Bought a new one and installed they are cheap enough. Not sure think the Pingel comes with one so doesn't matter if its mangled
