Anybody crack open their speedo and able to get it back together successfully?

Mine is a '99 all electronic speedo. Digital odo.

The lens of mine is foggy on the inside and I'd like to clean it but the bezel is swaged/rolled/crimped to the case. I'm not opposed to taking a dremel to it but I don't know what's going on in there and don't want to risk ruining it just because of some dirty glass...

 

Throw it into a Tupperware container with 1lb. uncooked rice and cover it. Leave it there for about a week....presto changeo...no more condensation.

 

I'm sure that works... But it won't get rid of the dead bug inside mine!

 

It's been in the house at ~30% humidity (electric heat is ”good” for that) for weeks and it was always foggy over the summer. I don't think it's condensation.

 

I think it's 15 years of Los Angeles smog built up inside the glass.

 

I can't think of Joe the Powder Pro's name on here but if you can find him I think he has taken them apart and reassembled them.

Good question , same problem with mine ... i will give that rice a go....wife's Thai so i will drop it in the bucket
