I have been watching the thread grow and now I'm about to get my ride. 2016.5 Harley low rider S. I have a deal working for 1700.00 out the door tax title fees everything. Is this a good deal considering it's still a new year release. Also because next year they are gonna bump most if not all up to the 110 anyway. Let me know what you think and thank you for your time. p.s. I love the bike it's what I want and I have had plenty of bikes but v twins always feel mor alive.
Personal opinion, you can do better than that. The 2017 models are coming out in a couple weeks...places by me are offing $2-3k off all Dynas without negotiating.
I did the 2" and I didn't have to re-route anything. But i wouldn't want to go a 1/4 inch taller without rerouting the clutch cable. You will be fine.
Just make sure when you turn your bars all the way left or right that you are not pulling or stretching on the cables.
I actually worked my way up from 1" to 2" to 3". Only at 3" does the clutch cable, and only the clutch cable get tight. It is tight only when the steering is locked to the right. A simple re-route will do the trick.

Dude I'd shop a little. I bought a 2014 for my ol lady two weeks ago for 13,000 with 600 miles on it.

So do you have to pull on the wires from the triple tree and frame to the bars for more slack? And do you have to release the brake line from the clip for more slack? And same for the clutch cable? I've not done this before so just want to be sure before I dig in.

A slight pull on the wires from the triple tree as well as the brake line will provide the slack you need. I re-routed the clutch cable to come up from the right side of the motor mount instead of the left. The clutch cable needs to be released from the plastic clip on the bottom left side of the frame, then re-routed from the right side of the mount. With that, there will be plenty of slack.
so my bike died on me lastnight, check engine light came on and wouldnt start. waited about 20 minutes and tried again...started up. got home and checked the error codes off the fuel pak and got "watchdog error" p1160. anyone else get this, if so, what was the solution?

I don't think that's a bad price at all. I paid $16K out the door for mine on July 31st. I was talking to 2 other dealers and they were both at 18.5 out the door. It was a Sunday, I called the dealer I ended up buying from and told them I was a buyer at 17.5. They agreed. Then I called my wife and told her I was buying another bike. She said no. So then I called the dealer back and told them the wife put the kabosh on the deal and I was sorry for wasting their time. They told me if I came in that day they'd do 16K out the door. At that price I couldn't say no so I took an Uber to the dealer and bought the bike. Wifey was mad when she got home. The madness got exponentially worse when she saw it only had a solo seat. The other dealer I was talking to called me on Monday morning and I told him I bought the bike at another dealer and the price I paid. He told me I was smart to take the deal because there's no way he would have matched it and my purchase price on the bike was less than dealer cost. So, all that being said I think 17 is a very fair price and I think you're unlikely to find a better deal unless you find a dealer desperate to sell bikes on the last day of the month.

I don't think there's much disparity between these two deals. For 4K more he's getting a bike that's 2 years newer, a 110, antilock brakes, cruise and a solid suspension upgrade. If you're in to the blacked out style over the cast parts that's another expensive upgrade. I think the above are definitely worth the extra 4 grand.
