Looks good as long as you don't take them out. If you do then you cannot tighten them back up. You'll need new hardware. Now if it was sold as a kit this is exactly what I would expected.

Now this is NOT the "best in the business" rd setup. The issue is if you do get different than what the pic shows what are you going to do? He's in a different country. That's why I just left well enough alone. The return shipping would eat up your money if it even made it. This maybe ok quality fo you and if it is then there's no issue. I don't even know if this is normal for quality or just a bad run. I never ordered anything else.
I was hoping maybe they had updated their product since it's dubbed as "Factory Line" now. Buying the well nuts I can live with, but if it's just poor quality. You are correct the inside of the fairing looks rough around the shield area. It would be different I guess if they told all of this up front or like you said listed it as a kit. If you don't mind me asking when did you purchase your Fairing (looks to be a quarter fairing to me). It's concerning to me that you were suppose to get the HD style clamps and got those cheap ones instead, makes me wonder what else is done like that.

I have attached the above picture with the sheet metal screws to an email and sent it directly to Deviant. I will follow up with their reply.

That fairing is about 2 years old. So maybe thing have greatly advanced seen then. If you have to pay the premium for the fairing then you should have to drill holes. One oops and you have an expensive piece that is flawed. If it was cheap then no issues

I'm really hoping to be able to find an FXRT fairing for my street bob while in Sturgis this year.

Really ridiculous that we have to order from the 'Continent of Africa' to get a H.D. fairing !...b.

Deviant response to the sheet metal screws and I quote.

"We use that marine stainless screw on the quarter fairings exclusively.
It is to retain the windshield and the light lens.
I can give you detail about our manufacturing processes and why the fairing are...well what they are. But recon you know.
Brief: Injection molded GRP fairings, baked to aerate and not warp. Sent in a gelcoat to preserve and facilitate paint prep"

In other research I thought I would post this full fairing install video from Big Bear Choppers. Looks like they have thought of everything.

Hey Guys, Stumbled on this thread while doing a search on something else. I am Joe from Deviant Fabrications. We make the best REPLICA FXRT, FXRD and FXRP fairings , not because we where the first company to make these fairings but because we have upgraded our manufacturing process 4 times over since the beginning to give YOU a better product. At present we make the GRP fairings by an injection molding process very much the same way we do our Carbon Fiber, we bake them and send them out to you in a gloss black GELCOAT. When comparing fairings, look for these features, they are modern industry standard for roadworthy vehicles. Aside from being light and strong, our fairing have NO RAW visible fibers inside.
Anyone can lay fiberglass in their back yard, and cover the flaws in bondo... I'm sure y'all have seen those products.
We sell these kits a "Builder Kits" so if you are not comfortable with getting your hardware at the store, or ordering Wellnuts from amazon... maybe our kits are not for you. We recommend they be installed by a professional or someone that is qualified. We still do our best to help you if you chose to do it yourself.
We purposely do NOT to supply hardware so the builder has choices on wether they want to go metric, standard, stainless, galvanized allen or hex. at an average cost of $7 for stainless hardware, should not break the bank. Remember, we ship all over the world and customers will want hardware of their choice.
You can buy lots of nice fairings out there... but if you want a fairing built to last, built strong, built correct (by a completely different process) of whats offered, you want a Deviant fairing. Second best made fairing is almost twice as expensive and 13lbs heavier...It is also built using correct process, like our 3rd generation of fairings before we invited in hard molds.
Im sure many of you have seen our FXRD dropped from a 14 story building, and be able to mount and ride (social media), or that at the last event specific to our style bikes 14 of the 17 bikes had a Deviant fairing... Those where not built by firs time builders as you may know.
Im not here to advertise what we do, just to answer the many questions you have. If you need further assistance, feel free to contact me direct. Always here to help. For those that have our products, thank you for your support.

Well sh*t. I just finished my t-sport mock up on my 17 FXDLS. I'm not going to change it, so I'll have to find a way to buy another lowride and do a FXRT/P mock up. I blame you all for a lack of money........and I'm so thankful for it!

Personally, if I spend THAT much money on a fairing, it had better come READY to install and with all hardware included. That's just crazy
