Spokes - Showing thread ???
I have a 2007 Street Bob. I just noticed today that on the rear wheel, all the spokes are showing about 1/4" of thread. Is this normal, defective or what? (It had to have come this way from the dealer.) I looked around at other bikes and all of their spokes showed no thread.
Is this ok or should I be attempting to have the dealer do something about it? I can't believe that it took me this long to notice.
If anyone has an 07 Bob, please take a peek at your rear spokes and let me knop if you have this problem or if it's just me.
THANKS,
2007 FXDB

The spokes are threaded for at least a length of 3/4 to 1 inch, so that means you have a minimum of 1/2 inch of threaded spoke in each nipple. More than enough.
In other words......stop worrying. The wheel is fine.........pg

You will need that extra thread when your spokes stretch. FYI, stretching rear spokes is common on late model wheels. Mine stretched and loosened twice. Once at 31k miles and once at 62k miles.
