did you ever find a solution to this problem with the bassani B1 exhaust? im going through this with a customers bike right now. the company failed to mention fitment issues prior to ordering. the tip of the pipe makes solid contact with the plate. apart from making new brackets and raising the bags up 2"s, i guess im hooped. thanks
I never did find a solution. The pipe was never actually touching my plate tho. I rode all summer with the bags on and everything was fine. Still close to touching, but it doesn't seem to have any negative effects.

I have the leather bags and a D&D BobCat 2:1 - same setup as Suede, but no additional heat deflector.
No problems with scorching at all. The aluminium plate on the bottom of the bags does get a bit of exhaust carbon on it and the contents of the bag at the bottom do get a little warm after a long ride, but nothing major.
Just don't keep ice cream in the bottom of the left bag.
Hello all, just wondering if any of you are running the Leather Pros FXDXT retro bags with the Bassani road rage 2? I have a 14 Street Bob and I barely have any clearance between my pipe and the bags. I called Garry and he said he knows of one guy who's had issues with this setup. Any of you guys running this with no issues? Any comments and pictures would be greatly appreciated!
I hope to get some pics posted later so I can show the clearance.
On my 2003 Anniversary FXDL i'm running Saddleman Hard leather bags and a Thunderheader. I switched the Bassani Road Rage to My 2001 FXDX Super Glide Sport ( no bags ) and then went back to the Thunderheader on the FXDX Sport .But while I had the Bassani on the 03 FXDL i didn't have any clearence or heat/exhaust charring or damage mainly because the Saddlemans sit a tiny bit "higher' in profile ? i really like the BASSANI Road Rage and as I'm currently looking for another pre-2004 FXDX that'll be the exhaust system that I put on it .
