Anyone had HD replace their inner primary bearing under the 15,000 mile recall plan yet? I'm thinking about replacing the black inner primary case with chrome one. If they have to remove it to change the bearing, maybe I can get HD to cover the labor under the recall like I did with my drag bars.
I believe when you purchase the Chrom primary from HD the bearing is preinstalled in the primary. But I may be wrong, it has happened once or twice before.

Last I knew they stopped the issue of replacing that bearing at 15k. That is unless they reinstated it. But I have a letter from them stating that it is no longer found needed. I have 17k miles on my 06 WG no issues.

Mine was growling and they refused to replace it. I finally couldn't stand listening to it anymore, and tore it down. The bearing was toast. Bearing was only like ten bucks, but with all the gaskets, ect, it cost me close to a hundred bucks plus my time to replace it.
Maybe your dealer sucks. My bearing was replaced at 15,886 miles, no problem. This is after they issued the letter that the bearing no longer needed inspected.
I was 3,000 miles from home on an 06 Street Bob and Dudley Perkins HD in San Francisco replaced mine at 10,000 miles, no problem when i rolled in. they couldn't have been more professional. Irish in the Service Dept. spent 2 minutes listening to it and said, 'this isn't right. we'll take care of it.' They did, and I was back on the road heading to Chicago. Great people. Sounds like your dealer could learna lesson from others.
