Yesterday I washed my 06 Dyna, let it sit for hours, then when went to start the bike, I had a hard time getting it to start and when it ran, it ran rough and would stall out. I let it sit over night and today had a slightly easier time getting it to start and when it ran it ran a little smoother. But now for some reason it is idling high. When in any gear, bike takes off on its own at that gears low speed(1st gear 15mph, 2nd gear 20mph, etc.) Is something still wet maybe? Please help. Thanks
About all you could have done was knock one of the throttle cables ferrules out of place (or the cables themselves) that tightened the cable and increased the idle speed.
Check the cable(s) from the twist grip to the injector. If that reveals nothing out of place then just adjust the idle screw back down to 1000 rpms and see how it does in the next few days.........pg
Check your ecm connector, especially if you're running a PCIII,it's probably wet, spray it out with contact cleaner and reconnect, will most likely fix problem.
Ditto to what Tommay said................This happened to me the other day. After washing my bike, I took off down the road, and the engine started sputtering and missing. When I came to a light, it stop dead, and would not restart. After walking the bike back home,
I pulled the ECM to PCIII connector, and water came gushing out. After using a blow dryer to dry all the connector pins, I snapped it back into place, reconnected the battery, and the bike kicked off in an instant! No problems since.
