Yesterday I washed my 06 Dyna, let it sit for hours, then when went to start the bike, I had a hard time getting it to start and when it ran, it ran rough and would stall out. I let it sit over night and today had a slightly easier time getting it to start and when it ran it ran a little smoother. But now for some reason it is idling high. When in any gear, bike takes off on its own at that gears low speed(1st gear 15mph, 2nd gear 20mph, etc.) Is something still wet maybe? Please help. Thanks
Ya think?, I am pretty sure that something in there must still be wet. Damn fuel injection. I guess that I would try to get something to blow any more excess moisture out of there(under the seat in the electronics). I have a carbed bike so I don't have this problem but, you can't really use a firehose to wash them down. Good luck
I agree.....you got the electrics a little wet. Give it a little time to dry out, and everything will be fine. Next time, take it easy on the water around the seat area and above the starter...everywhere else gets enough water for you to be able to wipe the area I mentioned before.....That's what I do.[&:]
You could have gotten a little water in the pistons and cleaned some deposits off, this would make the bike run better and prehaps increase the idle?????
take your air compressor, and blow everything off real good ..i often d othis after hand drying my bike to make sure all water is displaced. or a leaf blower.i like the air compressor the best. you would be shocked the wated that gets trapped in odd places. good luck and keep us posted.

maybe you should get some friends in, take the plugs out and turn the bike upside down to let all that water in the cylinders out.. that should sort it for you ok...[sm=icon_sneaky.gif]
Johnny, you didn't say if you had added anything like a powercommander or something else.
there is a computer bus (i guess that's what you would call it) that plugs into the computer from the wiring harness. its about 3 or 4 inches long and either grey or black with a lot of wires in a wrap coming out of it. when water gets into this connection, it starts pissing off the computer. its worse if you have a powercommander or something plugged inbetween the harness and the computer cuz the water gets in easier. anyway, if you unplug it water will come draining out. you can use wd40 to help get the water out and then use some di-electric grease in the plug to help keep water out in the future.
the EFI system gets cornfused and puts the bike in a "limp-home" map that cranks the idle up to let you know something is dorked up.
anyway. in the future, you can back the water pressure off some and hopefully avoid the situation.
IF the problem is with that bus-connector-thing then letting the bike sit for a couple of days might not help the situation cuz it takes too long to dry out without actually dumping the water out.
It's possible that I'm right here......or maybe I just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
