Well now I'm f-King embarrassed...too long of a day when I posted. I was comprehending it as FXDXT style fairings vs an Arlen ness or HD quarter fairing. Yes, the red is a Conely's. I guess I just associate JD with FXDXT in my head haha. Sorry guys.
So how much better was the JD versus the Conely's? I ordered my JD yesterday! Pretty excited for it.

JD is better for sure. The adjustable windscreen is the best way to figure out your buffering issues. It's lighter for sure.
The newer Conelys really aren't that bad. I know years ago the inside was rough fiberglass and brackets were breaking, but I think he got his **** together. But like I said- it's heavier, the hardware is annoying, there's no adjustable windshield and the fairing piece itself doesn't have a lot of up or down adjustability either. You're pretty much get what you get. Someone mentioned that the windshields are flimsy, but mine isn't. Mine is just as thick as the JD, but I wish there were more sizes. 12" or 14". I was running 15" with JD and that was the sweet spot for me.

Perfect, because I ordered the 15" as well. Did the blacked out shield ever bother you? I couldn't decide between smoked and black but I ended up going with black

No, you should look over it, not through it. I'm 6 feet tall and I'm fine. It's not like you ride looking down at your front wheel anyway.
Can someone post a picture of their mounting hardware, specifically the bottom part? I can't tell from their website if the bracket attached to the fairing goes inside or outside of the headlight bracket.
Thanks in advance!

Not sure if this helps, but here are some pictures of the bottom brackets. For those interested this is an 02 FXDX that I had to drill the lower tree. It's less scary than it sounds, just take your time. I'm in the process of mocking this up and installing, so if you need a different pictures let me know.
That first picture was the ticket, thanks man. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out. That's how I thought it was supposed to go but wasn't 100% sure.
