Currently running Avon Cobras on my 2012 FXDF. 200/55 18 in the rear and 130/70 18 up front. Its time for new tires and I'm wondering if I should stick with the Cobras or try something different. I have no complaints with the tires. Just wondering if anything better has come out in the past 2 years. Thanks.
I like mine a lot, but I think anything would've felt better the the 10yr ol stockers. But I'll do em again. I don't throw the bike around like others but they're plenty sticky for me.

Where ya been? Missed ya, done a lot lately like got some Southern Motorcycle Works wheels like you!
Got Avons too, but have only ridden on the front one so far, soon I will get to feel how it rides with both.
Get a pic up of that 200. Because it's the forums and we are all picture based anyways

Right on man. The SMW wheels are by far my favorite purchase.
I don't really know where I've been. lol. Just got caught up in life's BS I guess. Don't know any other way to explain it. But I'm glad to be back

The only pic I have is the one in my signature. I'll snap another one when I put the new one on. Cobras are one of the smaller 200mm tires. I think they spec out at 196mm which is about as wide as I want to go. Leaves about a 1/4" between the belt and the tire
I have a 2010 Fatbob (FXDF) and I'm needing new tires front and back. Now I have "heard" that using the Avon Cobra I can go up to a 200 on the rear and a 150 on the front but can't get anyone to confirm that for me. Is there anyone that has tried putting a lager than stock on the OEM rims? Apparently there's a problem with width because of the belt? I measured using a tape measure the distance between the side of the tire and the belt and got around a quarter of an inch, not a lot of room there. I would really like to put some Cobra's on, folks say they make a world of difference. Any thoughts?

Put 'em on! They fit just fine.
Personally, I kept a 130 on the front though - the front is already fat enough for my taste.
