Default Stage 1 map

Previous owner had HD do the Stage 1 map when the Samson exhaust was install. Curious if I were to change my pipes is there any reason to remap for the new pipes? Also going Ness BS in the stock cover this season as well.
Thanks.

My guess is that thing isn't tuned as well as it could be because the HD stage 1 map is garbage. They jam it on anything that is a stage one upgrade. It's not specific to what gear you have on. Invest in a tuner and do it yourself. Unless you plan to do other work to it. Then Dyno. So I would say Yes remap whether you keep it as is or change to different pipes

If you're switching from a 2 into 2 system over to a 2 into 1 set-up or vice versa, you'll need to re-map the ECM as the exhaust flow will be affected . If you're just going to change the look or manufacturer of the system and stay with the same style, no you don't need to re-map anything.

Thanks Old, I was actually considering the Bassani Road Rage 2 into 1. Going to stop by the shop this weekend and what my buddy can do for me.
Thanks.

I agree wholeheartedly with twospot... regardless of what you do, get rid of that awful MoCo stage 1 map.... my bike ran like crap with it.

I've been thinking about the same thing. I recently went from 2/2's to 2/1's with a stage 1 map for the SE tuner that I've been running since I bought the bike in 08 (never dyno'd it). I was thinking that I would have to get a fuel pack but was also contemplating scapping the SE and going with a Thundermax. To my surprise, the bike has been well without any help. I checked the plugs after about 50 miles and so far so good but I'm still wondering if it would still be worth the money to go with the Thundermax or fuel pack.

It all depends on how much more you might want to do with it. I'm currently running the TTS Mastertune system... but I considered it an upgrade unto itself, and not a requirement because of a hardware upgrade. When you look at them that way, it's easier to spend the extra money

Have you put yours on the dyno at all? Do you think I'm doing any damage by not having it done? I know there are some who live and die by the dyno but if I haven't camed it or done any serious motor work. Which is also why I'm still considering the Thundermax since you don't need to dyno it.

If your plugs are burning white or the head pipes are bluer than with the old pipes, you are running too lean and that can hurt things if you let it go on for too long.

My MM injection with a Stage II download has allowed me to run 2 into 1's with no problems but the later Delphi injection downloads since '02 aren't very substantial.
