I pulled the new plugs a few hundred miles after I installed them just to take a look...they were fine. I don't think the bike runs bad at all, from round town to cranking up the highway she hasn't skipped a beat.
But heres another question....go easy guys this is my first EFI, always ran carbs as a kid. If I decide to goto a 2 into 1 like a Bassani Road Rage, can installing a Fuel Moto Micro Tuner do the trick if I give them my load out so they can program it? Or do I need more?
thanks.
Did that mod and love it . The micro worked great right out of the box with the Bassani RR 2/1..don t think you ll be disappointed .Also did the Kuryakin Velociprator to complete the package .
I'm not sure if "override" is the correct term, but Yes the tuner will make the injectors squirt the right amount of fuel at the right time throughout throttle range.
You tell Fuelmoto what bike and engine you have and the parts you've used for the modification and they preload the canned map that suites the mod's best.
You can always squeeze a little more out with a $400 dyno tune but the neat thing about Fuelmoto is they offer you lifetime support.
Thanks JohnMn, I just emailed FM and they practically said the same thing, the micro will take over and make the corrections to the map needed, I won't have to delete or uninstall the HD Stage 1 map. For an exhaust and a/c upgrade I'm not sure I'll do a fuel Dyno tune unless I can find a reputable shop. Not really sure of the overall gains it would provide.

I can't justify a Dyno tune either. There's 3 local shops that dyno all between $375-400, if I went further then Stage 1 I would.
I'd give'm 250,, but for the gain 400 is just too much.
I mean I get it, they have hours involved in a tune. Maybe someday but it's not high on the list
Unless my bike had some glitch, a low spot, or stutter or some other quirk that was noticeable in every day operation, I couldn't justify the $400 to have some guy put a stress on my motor and drive train just to eek out a few extra HP that I don't use anyway with his dyno.
My bike has had several exhaust systems (last 3 were 2 into 1's) and the bike just runs as nicely as it ever has. The plugs 20,000 (?) miles on them burn a nice gray/tan color and there has never been any heat issues with a '00 anyway.
