I love my '04 Superglide! Mine has 32K miles, I recently went in to check the tensioners,as I've heard they were a major problem, but mine just had normal wear, probably could have done another 30K miles. I changed them anyway, since I was in there anyhow. I personally haven't noticed any problems in finding parts.

I own a 05 Super Glide. Love it.
The bike will do anything you want it to do.

I've had no issues with it at all.

Save yourself the headache. Buy an 06 or newer. I've got an 04 efi and everything is tooth and nail. It's hard to find parts. If it's aftermarket the fitment is usually poor or doesn't work. I like my superglide but I regret not doing a little more research.

Bought the 05 Super Glide and after a 40 Mile Ride Glad I did .. 4,000 Well Spent like the fact that it's Carbed as well .. Can Rebuild CV Carbs in my Sleep .. Will have more Pictures when Done working on it.. Needs a Fork Seal, All Fluids Including Brake .. And Going to check Cam Tensioners as Well , although am betting they are fine with only 17,000 miles ..

I also went with a carb'd one. Before buying one, I heard all the stories of how Harley's are always broken down, so thought that the carb'd model would help. Little did I know, the only wrenching I've done on my bike so far, is regular service, and upgrades that I wanted to do. Otherwise, as I said before, I've had no problem with my bike, even finding parts has been easy. Maybe I've just been lucky!

My carb'd '05 has been nothing but dependable... 45,000 miles and still running strong.

I have an '05 Super Glide, no complaints. This thread is the first I'm hearing about parts availability problems. The last I knew parts from 99-05 models are pretty interchangeable. I do know that Dyna has quirks like you cant run forward controls with a engine guard. If you run engine guard its mids only. Dynas are their own monster and you pretty much have to roll with 'em.

I've heard the same thing about year availability, I have an '03 and pretty much every part I've looked at that's been year specific has been 99-05

My comment to parts availability were more on the lines of aftermarket or different HD stuff. There's alot more out there for the newer bikes.
