I am a "run like you stole it" right out of the gate. Not sure that has anything to do with my overall result though. Not too many dyno results out there, but the Bassani and 2 bros using a PV seem to be pulling the highest numbers.
I don't like it myself, but I have a buddy who was the service manager at a BMW (cage) dealer and he said the fastest cars where the demos they gave to the management staff who beat the living hell out of them from mile 1. So I expect there is some truth in it. However they never see the long term results of it.
I'll happily remain one of the sheep who follow the rules, though I do WOT it once or twice when I first get them to seat the rings. After that, its babied to 500...
In my engine building experience the first 50 miles it should be kept low load, low RPM, then from there it can be revved a bit. Lugging it is far worse than running it hard, but it's really about consistent temperatures. Avoiding long WOT pulls or continuous high load operation helps a lot.
The other consideration is that it's not just the engine that is breaking in on a new vehicle, and the clutch needs to bed and the trans needs to wear in a little before it's going to operate properly.
Bars/cables question: Just picked up some 11 inch, "Lucky 13" bars from Lucky Dave's. I'm looking at the cable length options from Magnum Shielding and can't decide whether I should go with the +6" over stock option, or the +8" for both clutch and brake. Anyone have any suggestions?

i just went with the 12" San Diego bar and had a lot of slack at +8 from Magnum shielding. The lucky 13 bar is an inch lower with a bit more pullback so maybe +6 is a good and safe option.

Bars look great and so do the cables. Are those the black pearl? I went with + FXDF cables from dennis Kirk and am not real stoked on the fitment (clutch cable much too long and brake line is TIGHT). All my fault with the lengths I chose. May be ordering new cables and spending some time taking solid measurements..

They are black pearl. Did the set from Dennis Kirk use an AN3 fitting on the upper brake line and junction? If so, you may only need to order a new upper line unless you are really into the black pearl.

No, that would be too easy!
I still have full range, just my OCD checking in..
I just like your look better. Pic of my setup attached.

The bars look really good. Even though it is a pain in the *** to internally wire, the TBW makes tall bars look clean. The brake is a little tight, but does not look too bad. The clutch however would even drive my OCD crazy. I probably would have already ordered a new one!
