Question: Are there any differences between the '16 & '17 models? Were there any issues with the '16 models that were fixed on the '17s? I might buy a leftover '16 model...should I expect a discount? Thanks for any help.

I asked the same thing when I bought mine in September. I was told the only difference was the MSRP was raised for 2017. So I got a 2016. I was able to get a good deal, but that is because it's not a real popular model in my area. Baggers and Sportsters are about all you see here. Being in CA I think you might have a harder time getting a screaming deal even on a 2016.
There has been an ECM update that might already be programmed on a really fresh built 2017, but it is easily fixed by a reflash at the dealership if you go with a 2016.
Did you try to copy & paste it? It works on my end.
If not just go to the DK website and look in the Air Cleaner section.
I've seen their stuff and love it. Had a lot of my sportster. But wasn't sure if anyone had gotten something to work with the stock intake system of the LR-S
do the stock 110 heads on the 2017 FXDLS have high lift valve springs?
also the throttle body 50 or 58 mm stock? also anyone else get the recall letter from Harley MoCo about the tune re-flash? for better start ups and the compression release blah blah blah? TIA
