Hey guys hope you can clarify some things about putting 12" westcoast mx tbars on. Does anyone know...
Stock lengths of the clutch cable? How much longer over stock do you need to go? +6"?
Stock length of upper brake lines? And I'm hearing +6" on these are ok. Any other input on that?
I see that Magnum shielding makes stainless steel abs upper brake line kits in different colors/lengths, which means you'd have to get their abs lower brake line assay that has that 5 fitting brake module. I'm pretty sure that piece you don't have to worry about changing lengths as the bottoms stay the same. Has anyone else gone this route? How was it for you, which options did you choose?
Do we have enough wiring tucked away in the bike to be able to put 12" bars on and not have to use a wiring extension kit? Anyone else have luck having enough wiring or do we have to use and extension kit?
Thanks in advance for the help. I been trying to piece together everything I need to get this done and I seem to get different information from different dealers on what we do and don't need to change/add.
I just purchased a 2017 FXDLS, my third time owning a Harley. From what I have gathered from the forums, this seems to be the current dyna to have. I'm still in the middle of making it "mine". Some working being done at the dealership, some being done by me. Looking forward to riding it soon.

I run 12" West Coast Slingshots, they are a little more narrow than the MX Bars. Feel free to spend lots of money on magnum shielding, most guys just use a FatBob ABS line. I used the following:
Drag Specialties Black Vinyl Clutch Cable, 70 11/16"
Drag Specialties Front Ext Length ABS Black Vinyl Brake Line Kit +6" P/N 1741-3828
The brake line fit perfect and the clutch seemed a little long, about 1" or so. However, your bars will be a little wider, so maybe it will work out better for you. Here is a pic so you can see the clutch is wonky looking.
You have plenty of wiring in the neck, just pull it out.

Thanks for the info. For the clutch line you went 10"+?

So, I was an idiot when I ordered the clutch and went +6, but that is +6 for the Fat Bob, which is not the same as a +6 for the LRS, apparently. So learn from my mistakes. I will likely change it out this winter because I hate the way it looks.

I'm tryin a +4". We'll see how it goes and i'll post up how it looks and everything I had to do. Thanks.
