Wanting to add a tachometer to Dyna. Need ideas
I'm trying to figure out to add a tach to a dyna with the speedo in the tank. I dont like the Motor CO. dual speedo/tach combo. I would like to add it up on the bars like my Sportster's is except its a dual unit. I would like to use a big tach like that so I can see it well. Old age and glasses thing you know. Any ideas esp with pixs is appreciated. My like a Tach on my bikes, Old school I guess. Thanks and Peace.

not quite clear on what you want to do. I have a '06 WG with the speedo on the tank. addes a HD tach that sits between the dogbone clamps on the handlebar.

I'm thinking of putting a full sized tach in the ceter of the handlebarslike where the dyna standard has its speedometer. I hope to use the same mounting setup to the top clamp of the bars and just switch out the spedofor a tach like whats on a sportster roadster, or 2002 and back sporty. Just looking for ideas, I'd like to put something bigger than a mini tach so its easier to see. I have to wear glasses. I would like to go chrome but black would be ok also. Thanks

I have the stock, on tank, speedo.. and this HD add on mounted on the bars. I really like it. I look at the tach more than the speedo

Thanks for the ideas and responses. There was a bike swap and shop today andI picked up a harley sportster add on tach kit and a sportster chrome speedometer housing. It fits like a champ. It will bolt right on the handle bar clamps just like the sporty does. It also came with the wiring harness which included the indicator lite socket with the lites in them. I'm going to try and hook them up in addition to my indictor lites on the tank. I think it will be alot easier to see them up by the handle bar clamp instead of down on the tank. My bike is a 2001 FXDP. A dyna police model. I'll post the results with some pixs when I get done but it maybe put on the back burner till winter. Now is prime riding season around here, before it gets to hot. Peace to all and ride safe.

I had a Tach on my Sporty and loved it - relied on it. When I bought the Dyna I thought that would be one of the first mods I'd need. I never did it and now I can't even imagine why I needed one in the first place...
