Default Turn signal inop!

Sheesh! Brand new 2016 Wide Glide. Got 60 miles on it, and suddenly the left front turn signal is inop; and it isn't the bulb..

Closed Mondays. I'm swamped with work anyway; I'll try to get there sometime this week, though.

Hope this isn't a harbinger of things to come..

Sucks, dude. After they get it sorted, call Custom Dynamics and get some LEDs in there.

When I first removed the bulb and saw all the grease on the contacts, I wiped it off and cleaned out the receptacle a bit, with a rag; didn't make a difference.

Then a friend mentioned the tendency of the factory to load too much grease in there, and I took the bulb back out, wiped off the contacts again, and this time took some q-tips and alcohol to the receptacle; works fine now.

Put a little back, it's dielectric grease and prevents water corrosion and oxidation.

I read somewhere once that can-bus doesn't tolerate as much dielectric grease as non-can-bus.

Article said it interferes with the signals. That's what I read anyway.

Thanks!

Yeah, I figured it was dielectric; I just wanted the pleasure of seeing the bulb light up again. I'll put something on the contacts soon.

Can-Bus should have nothing to do with it. It should still be a metal to metal contact. The grease just keeps the water from contacting the metal parts.
