Quick Detach - BAD&G Bags - Quick Question
I'm going to do the mod as detail in post #1700 of the "Under $50 thread" to make my BAD&G bags detachable. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...ml#post8259345
As they are now, you have to loosen the fender strut to get the leather strap out.
I've got the supplies and understand what to do, all except for getting the all-thread rod into the bag. My plan was just to drill a 7/6" hole (slightly larger than the 3/8" rod) in the bags and use a washer both inside and outside the bag.
Do you see any issues with just drilling a hole in the bag?

Personally, I would find a 3/8 or 7/16 leather hole punch. Cleaner hole and less chance of tearing over the long haul. Also, I'd find some Fender washers for a little added support and adhere them to the bags. Good luck, and post some pictures of the final product.
