Just gotta do your own homework bud...no one can tell you what fairing, bars, seat will fit you best and what exhaust note you'll love. Stock Fxdx shocks are 13.5", I'd stay around that height.

The "spirit" of the club bike is function over fashion. If you have an ugly *** fairing or pipe or whatever, but you're still hauling *** and ripping the twisties, that's what it's all about. Look around and see what you like, but shop around in-person and see what fits you best.

I was mainly hoping people could recommend what fits and whats the best buys are some of it. Being an older bike I realize some stuff can be hard to find.

Because of this, your take off parts are going to have good value. You might want to hang on to them. Even things like "stock" exhaust are wanted by people that may want to return their bike to "100% correct."

How many hours have you spent researching? How many catalogs and vendor sites have you read front to back?

Patience. Read and learn! There are millions of options and only you can determine what's right for you. Ride your bike as it is and get to know it while you decide what you want to do. Not every solution is easy.

Not trying to be a dick. Just seems like you're trying to take shortcuts and that's never gonna end well.

Maybe look at what Dime City Cycles offers. Also, obviously, the forum sponsors. Google, as always, is your friend.

Get risers and a bar setup for the height you want with the gauges at the top, bottom, or somewhere in between. You obviously won't need longer cables for brakes/clutch with those apes on it now. Big Al's makes bars and risers you could use, you did post a picture of a bike they did. Do that and the mid controls then worry about the looks later. If the mid shifter pawl is still sticking out of your primary then it's going to be an easy switch back. Go for function first. Or just go buy a Harley 1/4 fairing and you've completed the "club" look. Also, that La Pera seat you have is 10x better than a badlander.

I've done quite a bit but instead of searching thread after thread it's easy to ask in here

You really are better off searching the Club / Thug thread, and piecing together the mods that strike you. It's not that no one wants to help, it's just that things fit differently depending on the year of your bike.. What works for my 15 FXDB, will almost certainly not work on your bike. There are plenty of guys on here that have went "club style" with their DX, so start with one subject, like the fairing, and search for that.

I went with a HD 1/4 fairing, but if I had a DX, I would have certainly gone with a JD fab XT repop. I believe you can order the entire clamp, and fairing setup direct from them.

Bars.... Your current setup looks like you can go as high as you want with any T-bar, or bar / riser combo. I have 12" West Coast Slingshot bars. From the looks of how things are going right now, the tall riser, and tracker style bars are what seems to be "in". Also, if a solid, non adjustable setup is what you're after, Have a look at Lucky Daves. All these bar setups are straight forward on install, and tool requirements.

As for shocks... Works is basically the new standard on rear shock upgrades. I was going to get a set, but ended up choking up a few extra bucks for a set of Ohlins HD 816. Works will customize your order to your weight, and ride style... And at a good price. Also check out the Hagon Nitros. Rebound, and preload adjustable, for about $550 or less. AS previously stated, 13.5 was stock for your bike, but you can probably go longer, or shorter depending on how hard you ride.

Pipes... T Header is yet another "standard". It's all all about opinion, but I personally think there's nothing more "Harley" out there than a T Header. Yeah, I went with a Bassani, and I love it.... If I had to do it over again, I would have ordered a SPF pipe. Sawicki makes a ridiculously beautiful, and great sounding pipe as well.

At the end of the day, you will need to start with one mod, research what others have done to make it work, and go from there. Take your time, and think your mods through.... Like I said, if I could do it over, I would have ordered an SPF pipe. Still probably will at some point, but right now I'm focusing on performance, and functionality.... Thinking it through is how I ended up ordering the Ohlins over the Works.... Long term is the key.
