...and maybe swap out or paint the pulley while the rear is apart....

Must have been a typo...i thought you said you paid $700 for the rear fender

Nope. That's correct. The exchange rate and shipping from England is a killer. http://www.rocketbobs.biz

I strongly considered his pintail seat but it really doesn't match the style I want. I'm sure he would glass up something custom but I didn't want to spend that kind of money.

NOT the case here, but just a comment...

Obviously the more "crazy" the custom paint is, the more distinct the separation between "Lovers" and "Haters".

I look at some "custom" paint jobs and see a lot of work and money to go backwards in the "looks" dept.

If I'm looking to buy the bike that has a NON-desireable (IMO) "custom" paint, the first i think of is "maybe i can sell/trade the tins and make some $
