Yeah, kinda scary ain't it? But it's not a ricer,,

That's what you need to do. Actually crawl under and look at what they're doing. Once you "see" how it works,, you'll be more comfortable,,
But you do need to actually look at it.

Or you could heat it and bend it and get coloring to make it right and add springs and make better springs and cut a better notch and make it longer or shorter or any of the above just to make it better,, because after all the Harley "Jiffy Stand" just doesn't work to hold the bike up,, Everyone knows that,, we hear of the "Jiffy Stand" failing all the time and bikes falling over,,

Has your bike ever been lowered ?? I "modified" my stand when I lowered it to get more lean on it by grinding the tab on the stand off some... Well I ground too much off lol,, the tab is now too short to lock in the groove when in the forward position.. Like said earlier take a look underneath and make sure the tab is locking in the groove...

I changed the knuckle in the jack stand as it had way too much slop.
New spring, crimped a little better around the pin, some never seeeze and also had to add a bumper cause the stand would slap against the frame folding it.
All good.

Default Solution!!

I had the same issues with my "new" Harleys. There is a simple and amazingly effective add-on that takes 15 mins. to install. I bought one last year, showed it to my riding buddies and now it is on every one of there bikes. Watch the video and install instructions, easiest mod and most effective I have done.
