Master cylinder size

I want to replace the switches and levers on my 79 dyna superglide with newer stylechrome controls. But in searching, I see you need to know what size your master cylinder bore is. I have dual disk brakes on my front wheel. How do I tell what size my master cylinder is??

I forget the sizes (9/16 and 11/16?), but your dual front brakes take the larger of the two options

You have to measure the ID of the Master Cylinder bore. It is the partwhere the piston is.

It should be a 3/4" bore, same as my 79 sportster. All the FX and XL models shared the same front brake setup from 79 - 83. Worst brakes H-D ever put on a motorcycle...

Thanks for your advice brothers. I assumed the larger of them would be better. I have ordered the 11/16 size off of ebay.

"Keep the shiney side up, the rubber side down and stay between the poles"!
