Lowrider S 1k report
The 110 seems a little weak off the line. I suspect the tune keeps it lower so the ride is less inclined to do wheelies. However it improves with miles and seemed to get stronger and stronger.
The last three tanks were right at 50 mpg. A big engine in a light bike at 55 mph with cruise control on is the likely reason. The last ride the low fuel light came on at 188 miles and it was 12 miles to the gas station. Took 3.97 gallons.
The controls fit without adjustment and the ride was firm but not harsh. Having cruise control is great along with ABS. The seat is small but comfortable even after 3-4 hours of riding. You sit in one spot. There is no room to move fore or aft.
The new switch on the handle bar is no longer run/kill it is run/off now. Push it on then hit the rocker switch for start. Want to stop push the old kill switch to off. Nothing else to do. Not having the big lockable switch leaves no accessory switch or lock position. Just walk away with the fob.
There is still a fork lock. With the trouble with the regular switch that the previous Lowriders had they must have given up on it.
It truly is a riders bike and does the job with style.
The only plan is to add an oil cooler then consider some exhaust. The stock exhaust is strangling the motor.
They adjusted the clutch as well as addressed a few little things.
The seat SUCKED for over a couple hundred miles with hundreds to go a day. I spent about 10 hours in the saddle the first day. The second day was around 8 hours. My bum hurt for two days after and was numb for a few days after that. That finally cleared up today.
I'm not gonna be doing another 1200 mile ride on it for awhile. Though if I do I have already ordered a mustang.
I think that first gear could be a bit taller. Feels like you are just getting into the power band and it hits red line and falls flat on its face. Same for second though only by a bit. Don't get me wrong, the bike is actually going fast enough for the gears, it just FEELS like it wants to give more. I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Fifth on the other hand.....pulls like nobodies business!!! I have honestly passed people with tons of torque and power and actually thought I was in fourth or maybe even third. It is really sweet. I've also caught myself cruising in fifth and thinking I was in sixth!!
I live fairly far from the Navy base and cruise around 80 to get there and back. Seeing between 38-50 MPGs. But I also go from sea level to 4000 feet on my trek. Lots of steep inclines!!
