No, and I can't help you find it, but there is a setting that determines starting timing. No joke. My tuner set mine so that my motor turns over 5 or 6 times before it fires since I'm running pretty good compression now. Ensures there's plenty of fuel to ignite before the spark comes along. I know what he's talking about.

I'm PV tuned. It's the start delay. I don't know if that'll help your problem or not. No expert, just do a lot of reading and fix stuff for a living. Call it a semi educated wild *** guess.

Actually I think we're talking about two different things. He was saying retard ignition timing 3deg. during starting. I think you are talking about delaying the actual firing of the spark an amount of time before it starts - in seconds?

Got some info from the helpful chaps in the ECM tech section. Here's the cells needs to be changed: (Note: this is not my actual tune, just a grab of the stock map that I had on my work pc)
The KPa's at 80-100 at 750, 1000 and 1250 RPMS should be dropped on both cyls to 1 from 4, which will retard timing 3 deg at startup. Going to try it tonight.
A few months after having a HD 103" kit installed on my '08 FXDC, would hear a horrible sound from starter, kinda like the teeth were skipping. Happened only now and then, and only with warm engine, but over time got worse. Had the jack-shaft replaced, and it's been good since.
