If the tires are really from 2004, get rid of them before you ride to the curb. They're junk.
How does it shift?
Does it track straight when you take both hands off the bars?
What do the brake pads look like? (Worn, tapered?)
Does the throttle cable return to idle when you release it?
Sticking piston in a brake caliper?
Leaks anywhere?

few things even before you clean
* Change the tires, all fluids and prob the battery
* Lube everything

To clean Original Bike Spirits to clean and polish
S100 Engine brightener
Flitz to clean the harsh metal and polish the heads
Mothers or Meguires

AND do not armor all the seat like my moron neighbor did yesterday.. lol

Hey! Congrats! You knew what you wanted!

I'd lose the reflectors on the front forks. Use something like fishing line to pull them off and then go gone or rubbing alcohol to get rid of the sticky residue

The front fork sliders you should be able to sand down with 220 sandpaper until the clear is all the way off.

then you can use fine paper 400/600/ then wet paper 800/1000/1500/2000. Then use aluminum mag polish and it will look like chrome.

or

you can sand the clear off with that 220 and then appliance epoxy paint it black.

I will. You guys are so helpful. Can't wait to get it cleaned up. I've read aluminum foil works great. Would like to get at least a high air intake air filter and maybe some ***** g acc, if they have them,for 2004 super glide.
