Default Fat Bob Anyone REALLY know them??

Ok I have a question.

Does anyone really know differences between a 2014 and 2016 FXDF??

I have a 2014, and from day one, something always seemed to sit low in the front end. It was always a personal opinion thing, but it always seemed as if the bike sat lower in the front than it should.
I've seen others out and about, and they just seemed to have a different stance to me.
Well, I actually got to park right next to one, and sure enough, they are different.
Now per the Harley website, there should be no difference in specs. But clearly something is different. I know angles, distance, pictures can be deceiving,
but if you look at the top of the trees, and the top of the lower black part on the bottom of the forks, You can see one sits almost 2 inches higher.
Same tire size, measured the forks, same, so what gives??
Are the frames different? Rake?

Anyone explain this to me??

I initially thought that too, but I did a measurement and its about an inch with bikes standing straight up. I'm starting to wonder, maybe my suspension is just broke in a little more. The bike on the right has about 100 miles on it.

Did you measure the distance from the lower fork clamp to the top of the chrome dust cover? That will tell you if your front fork's are collapsed more than the other Fat Bob. I agree, they do look different in the image but the measurement from the lower clamp to the top of the chrome dust cover will tell the tale

Looks to me like the trees are sitting lower on the orange bike. I like it.

a quarter inch, maybe 3/8.
I gues between that and new tires vs old, I could come up with enough of a difference to account for what I'm measuring with the bikes vertical.

I guess when you couple it all together, its probably just a little broken in.

Yes, I spun my risers, its only a tiny bit further forward, but every bit helps.
I have been searching high and low for new bars.
The factory ones are 5.5 rise, 7.5 pullback, and 32 wide.
I have been searching high and low for like 8, 5, 30.
Plus I want a T bar style.
I hate the one piece riser clamp the bike comes factory with.
and being 1.25, its even harder to find options.

When I bought the bike, I really wanted to install a handlebar tachometer right in the center of the bars between the risers, just under line of sight.
I hate looking down to see my R's.
Plus I think its kind of a tough look to have a tach top dead center.

Anyways, after researching that, I soon learned that you cant get individual riser clamps for pre-drilled bars.

Im now going in the direction of trying to modify the topclamp so I can mount my Powervision in the middle, and use the screen for my tach, temp, and speed.

But that's becoming a PITA too, all because i'm an OCD asshat who has to have my gauge centered.....

This is the stuff I find interesting; 3/8" additional sag on the front forks, perhaps a 1/4" (?) of tire wear. Where's the rest of it coming from. Specs at Total Motorcycle say the '14 and the '16 are identical yet your measurements say otherwise.

Rollcage, at a minimum change out your fork springs for Progressive springs, either heavy or standards. Follow Progressive's recommendations on fluid weight, level, and spacer length. Get that 3/8" back. When you see the cheap crap HD puts in the front forks you'll cry in your beer...

The 1/4 to 3/8 difference is from the lower clamp to the dust cover you mentioned. The tire wear mentioned was in reference to the 1 over all inch measured with bikes standing up, measured from ground to top of trees,

I initially said it "appeared to be about 2 inches, but when I took a tape out there, it was 1.

I have read about people suggesting Progressive springs, but have no idea what this entails. Just to educate myself, I'll read about cost, how hard the job is to do myself, and what intervals I should consider fork service.
To be honest, my first thought would be to shuck up the coin and pay someone, but I'll read about it.

Thank you though,
Always helpful, and I do appreciate it!
