Default Help lost exhaust nut
I added some new exhaust wrap to my 2005 FXDX and as I was putting on the rear header, the top most nut fell somewhere on the bike. It definitely didn't hit the floor. I think it fell near the primary by the belt drive but I can not get to it. Any help?

put another one on start the bike up it will fall out

When I tore the rear end off mine I found all kinds of stuff sitting in the black hole where the frame, trans, and swingarm all come together. There were all kinds of leaves, seeds, nuts, and bolts in there. Hard to reach and impossible to see.

A flexible magnet pickup tool can get in there but it takes some wiggling and holding your tongue just right.

The magnet is a good idea but when that doesn't work sometimes a blast of compressed air in the right place will blow out the missing parts.

I have used the magnet, compressed air, and idling bike and each has worked at different times. I think only once in decades have I not been able to find the missing nut!

I did the same thing (dropped an exhaust nut) and this is where I found it.
Was able to use a magnet to get it out.

I did the same thing and looked for it for almost an hour before giving up, spent the next hour and a half going to the store to buy another and when I got back it was laying right beside the bike lol
