Why waste time and possible injury righting a totalled motorcycle? It's not like there's going to be further damage to the bike. Tow driver likely isn't a dick. Wait, on second thought, he might be a dick.
What would anyone possibly want off that heap of scrap? Frame? Likely ruined/bent. Engine? After seeing how they treated the rest of the bike, would anyone trust it's reliability?

Back in 2007 my 20' scissor lift and Atwood steel bed trailer were stolen right out of my yard. No, it wasn`t a bike, but it was an integral part of my livelihood. It had new tires on the trailer, electric brakes, and four expensive deep cycle batteries that were only 6 months old. It basically killed my business because the insurance paid only a fraction of what it was worth, and I couldn`t work many of my accounts without the lift. Plus, I would have had to go into deep debt to replace these items. It was like someone kicked me in the gut. I have a deep burning hatred for thieves as well....

OP, That really sucks man. The before shot is beautiful. Senseless bullsh*t like that just pisses me off. As someone said above, hopefully the perp is feeling some pain from the bike ending up that way in a ditch.
i don't get why you'd steal someone's bike. there were some slimebags here that had a chop shop going in plain daylight. like mentioned above, you might be stealing someones livelihood. not cool

Same thing happened to my Buell last year. Beautiful bike, all carbon fiber'ed out. Stolen right out of my garage. Cops found it parked on side of road about a week later with weird spray painted parts, and the idiots ruptured the battery when trying to pry the seat off - battery acid leaked out and basically melted the entire rear end. WHY?!
