I need a windshield for this bike. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated. I'm 6'5'' and I am unsure of the height required to prevent wind buffeting. Please share any experiences to guide my choice. Thanks!
Guys, the buffeting is known to come from underneath the windshield. Not from the top. You may have to get some lowers for the bottom sides of the windshield. I believe Memphis Shades sells them.
I've tried several different setups from a small WindVest to a HD QR touring shield and have yet to find something that doesn't have crazy buffeting. I rarely use a windshield, but like it for long trips to help fatigue and to block the rain. I'm currently using a Clearview shields recurve on HD Supersport hardware, and have the Memphis Shades lowers. I still get so much buffeting that my beard constantly slaps me on the cheeks, drives me nuts.
I think Mr. ***** is correct, that it comes from under the shield. I think its worse because I have forward controls. The Memphis Shades lowers helped a little, but it wasn't significant to me.
I'm wondering if maybe the Memphis Shades Batwing Fairing for Dyna might be the answer for me. Every bike I've ridden with a windshield had severe buffeting. Has anyone tried the Batwing and had good results?
I had the 19" H-D quick release windshield on my '07 FXD and replaced the lexan with a direct replacement from Klock Werks. The replacement windshield mounted right in the H-D brackets and holes, it has the side and top flairs. It made a big difference. I'm 6'4".
I am 6'01 and went to a Clear view Shields sport style windshield.. (which utilizes the factory quick disconnect brackets) replacing the OEM quick detach windshield.. I have never really had issues with buffeting while riding.. but the CS shield is miles above and way better than anything that I have ever used windshield wise from the MoCo..

I ordered one of these from Clearview, a Dyna 15 inch with recurve, but still waiting on it. Ordered over 3 weeks ago and sent them emails with no response as to when to expect it to be shipped.
I seem to remember it taking awhile when I ordered mine, but I don't remember how long as its been a few years. I know they did respond to my emails though.
