Should I run the TTI inserts with the gutted out the cat from a stock Fat Bob head pipe or would I be fine without them?
What size insert will I need if I have to used them?
I'll be running 2in rush slip-ons.

Thanks.
Go to their site and read up on them. I ended up getting the smaller ones by mistake, and had to later get the larger ones. Something to do with the measurements of the opening.
So, bhaxton shared with me his setup. I'll post more about it later tonight. But, using my never used FXDF stock mufflers I was able to build what he's got - although it's a test mock up. The baffle he speaks of is longer than 8" for now and I have yet to install the lollipop. I had time to mock up this setup so figured why not. It'll be a few days because a friend has to weld the baffles for me (I just bolted them together for testing).
Overall it sounds much better and very deep. Not too much chatter on deaccel and definitely no popping. It was a little blubbery and hollow sounding, similar to DK's video of gutted stock pipes before they install the TTI. Also could tell she didn't quite have the ***** she did with the SE baffles. Here a video clip:
There is no doubt that a "tuned" exhaust will out perform an untuned exhaust system. Does anyone market a "stepped tube" system for HD?
Or, a "Bi-mode" exhaust system, similar to my Z06?

I think at least a few of the performance orientated 2-1 systems have stepped head tubes.
It would be great to have a electric solenoid valve like the Z06 to kill the sound at lower RPMs when you want too. Not sure how anybody would pull it off without it being bulky. The Patriot Defender kinda has that idea, but I don't think its really adjustable on the fly. Haven't looked into it too much.
Finally got time to complete this mod.
Here's the vid. I apologize it's upside down. I think the video does no justice to how good and deep it sounds at idle. Since I tossed the lollipop and glass in the pipe it's nice and deep, perfect volume. It's also got a little bark when you give it throttle. Didn't get a chance to test ride it though. Will do that tomorrow.
