Sorry, I do not have the dimensions of the ignition switch retaining nut. I installed the switch over a year ago and since it is working fine, I don't want to remove it to make measurements. You mentioned that your retaining nut is already scratched so why not just remove it with a long nose pliers and measure it yourself. At this point, you can't harm it much more.

I'm italian. Just curious to know if this face nuts are standard for many vehicles in US. So I can access to lot of other components for cars and trucks.
Because in Europe lot of this parts have metric thread.
Using Google I can find in US lot of face nuts for ignition switches. If they are SAE standard parts, threads, and diameters are similar.
I've been tossing this around for weeks! Just came across your post. Dude, anyway I can somehow get a template of the bracket you made?
Just tossing this idea out since I don't see it mentioned in this thread, if you are looking at moving the switch consider removing it all together. You can buy the harley security module that has a replacement BCM and 2 fobs and have the dealer program the ignition to come "on" when the run switch is flipped. I had a lot of issues with my ignition and the bracket and after seeing how easy it would be for someone to take a ignition switch and plug it up to your bike to steal it I couldn't think of a better solution than removing it altogether.
Ive been meaning to do this relocation but like everything it got put off. While at Born Free earlier this year the stock ignition started to loosen up on me. This is after pre-drilling setpoints and blue loctiteing everything multiple times. Me and the boys decided to lather it up in red Loctite and hammer at home since I had an 800 miles ride back to SLC. Well this week I finally decided I was going to fab up some parts and do the relocation under the battery box because I think that looks the best. Turns out we cross threaded and otherwise completely ****ed up the ignition and I spun it in half trying to remove it. Well on my way to harley to buy a new ignition I remembered I had one from a 2012 Dyna. This was the year that had the ignition and fork lock were all in one.
Long story short I didnt have to do anything other than remove the tank and cut the heat shield that was around the ignition wiring (And have an old ignition laying around). I think the relocation looks Bitchin because it reminds me of the old FXDs but I am enjoying having the ignition and 4 oclock all in one especially because I can leave my key in while riding.
