Default Dyna for Short Guys!

Hey guys, I'm standing at a sky scraping 5'5" and really wanting to get a Dyna. When I head back to Florida in September I'm looking to demo and rent a couple bikes to see where I'm at as far which one I'd like to buy.

But I'd like to get your experience or opinions on whether a guy of my stature could ride a stock Dyna (probably lowrider) right from the factory?

Thanks guys!

I met a chap at a stature below that - reduced reach bars and a proper seat moving a bit forward were the solution.

The "forward mids" may be a good position as regular forwards may be too far.

Yeah I can't do Forwards, I know 100% they'd have to be forward mids or mids. But I'm just thinking from a safety perspective.

go with mids on a SB. I'm 5'10 and it mids still fit me well with plenty of room to spare. The stock seat is pretty low already so I'm thinking your okay. What you will need to adjust is possibly the handle bars to pull them closer to you. I'd be more worried about that versus the height since the dynas sit low already.

When I rent the bike, do you think Harley would pull the handlebars in for me? Just so I can feel what it would be like when I buy.

A FXDL is low to the ground? Only in name. My FLSTF (Fat boy) is much lower to the ground than my FXDL. My chick says I look like I'm riding a toy when I stand over the seat of my FLSTF.

That said,

LOL I saw that video for the first time last week. I want to find out what bike that is, because I may need to start looking for one of those.

The FLSTF I think has a very similar Seat height.. maybe like half an inch lower? but those of us with short legs, it's easier to get them wrapped around a lowrider.

5'8" Here but only a 29" inseam which is the critical part and not overall height .. My FXD Just makes it for being comfortable with it's mid controls .. Not wanting to go any lower in seat height unless can keep the same ground clearance I have with this one to keep from scraping in the turns .. Loved my Heritage, but scraped all the time with it even in Flat FL ..
